A day nursery in a wonderful rural setting
Established over 20 years ago, Church View Day Nursery is a 60-place, independent private day nursery, conveniently located in the grounds of St. Nicholas Park, adjacent to the Northumberland Wildlife Trust Park. The premises are a single-storey building situated in a ‘parkland’ location, surrounded by mature trees and lawns. We sit in a large securely fenced garden for the sole use of the children. Based in Gosforth, we welcome children from across Newcastle upon Tyne.

Free early years entitlement (F.E.Y.E) and two year old funded places
We comply with the EYFS framework and base our planning and assessment on following the children's interests, through regular observations. We are inspected and approved by OFSTED and therefore we are qualified to deliver the 'Early Years Foundation Stage'. As such, we are able to administer the F.E.Y.E and two year old funded places. We offer a limited amount of free places for the F.E.Y.E universal or extended offers and two year old funded offer. These are allocated on a first-come first-served basis each academic year and are subject to availability. Once these places are taken, parents are able to opt for available places within each offer, combining sessions to include both free and paid childcare. contact us

‘Children are happy and settled at this very friendly and warm setting. They build strong bonds with staff, who are caring, calm and kind. Staff and children enjoy each other's company as they dance, share books and build with toy bricks. Children play imaginatively with their friends and learn to share and to take turns. They are emotionally and socially well prepared for their move to school or the next stage in their learning.' OFSTED 2025
